Chad Williams has been a nurse for over ten years. After participating in both Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid training, he realized that he was better able to help his patients through some of the use of those skills. He has recently changed careers to become a firefighter in order to better assist his community. He currently is an EMT and Volunteer Firefighter at Gordonville Fire Department.
Chad is married to Heather, suicide prevention and mental health advocate, and the father to four children. Chad speaks openly with his children about the importance of mental health as well as teaches them how to safely use firearms. Chad has served in the Army and has an extensive understanding of firearms and firearm safety. Chad has volunteered at numerous suicide prevention community walks and suicide prevention conferences. Chad sees the Safer Homes Collaborative as a way to combine his love of firearms and firearm safety and passion for protecting members of his community.
